Katin’s Specialty - On-Site Chair Massage
Please contact us for rates
Chair massage counters the circulatory problem associated with office work and provides an appreciated break for employees. Tight muscles caused by stress and sitting behind a desk all day, especially at a work station that is not ergonomically designed, can impede blood and lymph flow through the body. The result is mental fogginess, decreased energy and susceptibility to repetitive strain injuries, like carpal tunnel syndrome.

Sitting in a massage chair opens up the back muscles, relieves strain on the neck and a chance for you to rest your eyes that are usually glued to a computer monitor. Even a 15 minute massage to the neck, back, arms and hands can increase circulation, returning energy levels and helping keep the body injury free.

Each year 6.7 million working days are lost as a result of stress. Whether it’s due to repetitive strain injuries or fatigue, every office could benefit from an On-Site Chair Massage program. Companies who’ve included massage therapy in the workplace have reported increased alertness and creativity among their employees, decreased absenteeism, work place hostility and anxiety disorders. It also boosts company morale!!!

We also bring our massage chair to your home. We are available for birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers and other specialty events.

Swedish Massage
$85/HR
Katin’s Swedish massage is unique, it uses firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation. It employs an “East meets West” strategy that includes the following five techniques mixed with some Thai & Tui Na modalities:

  • Effleurage
  • Petrissage
  • Friction
  • Tapotement
  • Vibration

The therapist generally uses massage oil or lotion to facilitate long, smooth strokes over the body. A Swedish massage is ALWAYS performed with the client covered by a towel and a sheet, a technique called "draping". One part of the body uncovered, massaged, and then covered up before moving on to another part of the body.

Shiatsu Massage
$85/HR
Shiatsu, also known as acupressure, it’s when the therapist applies pressure with thumbs, fingers, and palms to specific areas of the client's body that have been determined during an “hara” assessment prior to the massage session. Massage techniques like thumbing, palming, tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy stagnation and improve the optimal flow of Qi (blood). This massage does not require client to get undress but comfortable clothing is recommended.

Sports Massage
$90/HR
All athletes and bodybuilders look for an edge that can help them train more effectively, perform better or overcome injuries quickly. The limits of speed, endurance and strength are pushed every time you train. Even though athletes push harder and harder, there are still limits to the body's ability to perform without breaking down. All this pushing requires a great deal of recovery in order for athletes to avoid injury and overuse trauma. Sports Massage is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system, especially when Sotai is incorporated. Received regularly this may help athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse. A constant build-up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.

Reflexology
$45/30 Mins
Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands which correspond to every part of the body. By stimulating and applying pressure to the feet or hands, you are increasing circulation and promoting specific bodily and muscular functions.

Gua Sha Therapy
$35/Session
Gua Sha is a healing technique used in Asia by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in both the clinical setting and in homes, but little known in the West. It involves palpation and cutaneous stimulation where the skin is pressured, in strokes, by a round-edged instrument; that results in the appearance of small red petechiae called 'sha', that will fade in 2 to 3 days.

Raising Sha removes blood stagnation considered pathogenic, promoting normal circulation and metabolic processes. The patient experiences immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever, chill, cough, nausea, and so on. Gua Sha is valuable in the prevention and treatment of acute infectious illness, upper respiratory and digestive problems, and many other acute or chronic disorders.

Cupping Therapy
$45/Session
Cupping is an ancient Chinese method, a partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Cupping has been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins. Cupping is the best deep tissue massage available. Cupping is very useful, very safe and the effects are similar to Gua Sha.
